guilt

9 Jul

yes! ok! you got me! i’m guilty!

my guilt box is plenty full!

my guilt box is plenty full!

why, you ask?
well, because i just saw that my last post was in january!
shameful. hopeless. bad.
i know!
32465566i’m sorry. so so so sorry. if i were a dog, this is what i would look like right now

i am denver. denver is me.

i am denver. denver is me.

i will not let it happen again, i promise. you know what the worst part is? i’ve actually been photo-documenting everything noteworthy, so that i can blog about it.
without wanting to bore you about being uninspired, i’ll just blame life again. ha! yes, life has handed me quite a few cards- taken away some, and then dished out some more. so there, that’s why i haven’t been blogging. oh yeah, and the weather (the weather is always a great scapegoat). it has been so nice outside these past weeks, that i really barely use the computer. so there. mobile blogging? oh right, i have that too… ok well then here: my phone battery always runs out too fast! ha! ha! gotcha.

in case you don’t know who denver is, you need to watch this gem:

fall wootds- moccasins

22 Nov

lovelies, i know it’s been a while that i haven’t posted any outfits, so i’m going to make up for it now, by breaking up about 15 outfits into smaller posts.
i still have some fall outfits i want to show you, some are from early fall, and some are more wintery- unfortunately the weather decided to fast forward through autumn, and we’ve had about 2 weeks of mild weather, then straight to real cold.

i noticed that one of my favorite fall items were my minnetonka moccasins, they are so comfortable and cool, i’ve tried wearing them with pretty much everything! since today is thanksgiving (happy thanksgiving everyone!), i thought it would be a cool first post, you know, with the indians wearing moccasins and all :)

jacket: h&m
dress: h&m
shoes: minnetonka

cardigan: ellison
t-shirt: new yorker
jeggings: james jeans
shoes: minnetonka

jacket: zara
scarf: mango
cardigan: h&m
t-shirt: mango
jeans: zara
shoes: mango (black moccasins, with studs- sorry the pic is so shitty!)
bag: bcbg

jacket: h&m
sweater: h&m
jeans: zara
shoes: minnetonka
bag: LV

you will notice that the moccasins aren’t the only recurring item in the fall outfits, my h&m (light) parka has been one of the most versatile things i’ve ever bought. i’ve worn the crap out of it- the model, cut, material and color make it perfect over pretty much anything- i was so sad when i stowed it away, but i can’t wait to get it out again in spring!

done dipped

19 Nov

hello lovelies!
i hope you guys are holding up well, and not succumbing to the autumn blues!
it can get hard staying positive, when the sky is mostly gray and temps are low- thankfully the christmas markets have started opening, and there’s nothing better than holding a warm mug of mulled wine or punch, and inhaling the allspice scent in the air to shoo away the blues! can’t wait for my first visit!

lovelies, this post is about my hair. you might remember my ombre and dip dye post, which included a poll – well, thanks to your encouragement, i finally had the guts to go through with it!
at first i leaned more towards the ombre, because it seemed somewhat fancier with the added color, but then, i actually went for a gradual dip dye. i figured i could start off with something a little less aggressive than bleaching and coloring, so just lightening the ends of my hair seemed like a good compromise.
i love how it turned out, and i actually regret a bit not having been a bolder in the execution… but i can always get it done again when i go for a trim.
here is the final outcome:

of course i can’t leave you without before and after pics ( my wavy hair had to be brushed out, that’s why it looks the way it does):

before

after

here’s another pic of the finished look:

another reason why i didn’t do the ombre look is because i had done red henna to my hair about a year ago. henna is different to a toner or dye, because it changes the actual color of your hair, as in it doesn’t only envelope the hair like a regular dye, but it penetrates into it, and can’t be washed out. eventually it does lose the more flashy pigments (color keeps coming out when washing up to a month after it’s been done), but you are left with a beautiful shine/shimmer. henna has to be grown out, once you do it, you have to consider that your haircolor is permanently changed. so the hairdresser tested the bleach first on a lock she cut off, to see how light and to which shade it would go. my chocolate brown hair has a reddish shimmer, so when it was bleached, i was left with coppery strands- love it!

teeny wootd

4 Aug

hi lovelies!

i’ve just realised that it’s been ages that i’ve posted a work outfits of the days entry… i don’t know why, but i think because it’s been so warm, i really try to wear as little as possible, which sadly also means flipflops, very basic clothes and no accessories. not very exciting. not very worthy of being on the blog.
but i’ve found a couple of outfits on my phone, so i’ll give you these, along with a question: would single ootd or wootd entries directly from my phone be preferrable? easier?
i guess they would be faster and more direct for me, because i would just have to upload them from my phone as soon as i snap them. yes? should we give that a try?

here are the outfits:

t-shirt: asos
skirt: h&m
sandals: h&m

low luv horse leg necklace

t-shirt: asos white
jeans: h&m
sandals: wittner australia
necklace: low luv by erin wasson

*clubbing outfit* – i don’t go to work dressed like that :)

tank top: zara
shorts: versace for h&m (cruise collection)
shoes: wittner australia
necklaces: melissa agnoletti and market find

leather jacket: ashy london

you probably noticed that the first couple of outfits are a bit warmer- yeah well the crazy european weather was rather fresh two weeks ago, then did a complete 180 and temperatures shot up to 36°C, which are still the current temperatures.
what do you like to put on when it’s too hot to wear clothes at all?

copenhagen distortion and circus confetti

30 May

i hate that work takes all my blogging energy away. i’m left in the evening with no strength to do anything anymore. i literally hurl myself onto the couch and don’t move except for getting food. the last tidbits are spared for transferring my exhausted body to the bathroom for the evening routine, and finally- propel myself into my bed.
so so sad.

not today! today, my dearest readers, i will stay up late! for what? packing!
i’ve taken thursday and friday off work, to attend the wonderful copenhagen distortion – a block party so awesome, it lasts four days. set smack- right in the city center of wonderful copenhagen, this party is epic. my best friend and i went already last year, and promised eachother we’d do it again. and again.

last year we were blessed with fantastic weather- sadly, the forecast for the following days doesn’t look so nice, but whatever! fuck you weather, we don’t need your cooperation to party!
that’s right.

my biggest dilemma right now is the ever-recurring, perpetual question of: “what will i wear?”
ok… so there is a 30-50% chance of rain for pretty much all four days, and the temperatures will be in the mid-high-teens (celsius) during the day, and around 8°c at night. not toasty, but not fuck-i’m-freezing either.
the plan is to take one pair of jeans (ripped), and one other pair of pants. i think it’ll be my gray jeans. a pair of tights, jeans-shorts or skirt, and a bunch of t-shirts and sweaters/hoodies. footwear has to be practical: black wellies and my black-and-gold reebok high tops. i don’t know yet which jacket or coat i will end up taking… it has to be something that won’t get me wet… maybe i’ll stop by h&m in the morning and scout for wind/rainbreakers.
what are your suggestions for bad-weather festival/party/concert attire? what are your favorite clothing items you always take with you to an event?

i have a special plan for my nails. while in bratislava i bought a very cool nailpolish from essence, 02 circus confetti – a multicolored and multi-shaped glitter top coat:

circus confetti!

as a base coat i used the clear polish (colour&go, dries super fast) and the gel-look polish as a top. it looked really cool, even on natural nails. the vision for my distortion nails is circus confetti over either a white base, or the light bluey-minty catrice sold out forever. which do you think would look better? white or blue-mint?
