guilt

9 Jul

yes! ok! you got me! i’m guilty!

my guilt box is plenty full!

my guilt box is plenty full!

why, you ask?
well, because i just saw that my last post was in january!
shameful. hopeless. bad.
i know!
32465566i’m sorry. so so so sorry. if i were a dog, this is what i would look like right now

i am denver. denver is me.

i am denver. denver is me.

i will not let it happen again, i promise. you know what the worst part is? i’ve actually been photo-documenting everything noteworthy, so that i can blog about it.
without wanting to bore you about being uninspired, i’ll just blame life again. ha! yes, life has handed me quite a few cards- taken away some, and then dished out some more. so there, that’s why i haven’t been blogging. oh yeah, and the weather (the weather is always a great scapegoat). it has been so nice outside these past weeks, that i really barely use the computer. so there. mobile blogging? oh right, i have that too… ok well then here: my phone battery always runs out too fast! ha! ha! gotcha.

in case you don’t know who denver is, you need to watch this gem:

hiatus over

23 Oct

lovelies- my hiatus is done.

i promise.

this past month, i’ve been absent from the blogosphere because of… well, life actually.
i’ve had friends visiting, work keeping me busy and uninspired, general writer’s block, books i’ve been reading, and been hanging out with friends. all activities that had me invest my time, leaving no room for sitting at the computer.

don’t think that i haven’t been thinking of you though! oh no. i’ve been diligently taking pictures, baking and cooking, so that i can show you what i’ve been up to this past month.

stay tuned for the next posts, in the meantime, here’s a picture of yuki at dinner last night. he’s fancy like that.

loki and loki

2 Jul

loki the god of mischief would be incredibly proud to know that he shares his name with my cat loki.
we named her loki because she reminds us so much of what he represents… ironically, tom hiddleston is exactly the loki we had in mind- they even have the same eyes:

loki and loki

here are a few more examples of how my kitty looks like tom hiddleston’s loki:

see what i mean?
do your cats and dogs resemble any characters or people?
here are a couple more pictures of my loki- i mentioned in a previous post that she is half bengal half european short hair; notice how her ears, eyes, dots and face look a bit exotic, giving her the appearance of a little wildcat :)

*very inspiring blogger award*

27 Jun

hemingway and shakespeare, the two very entertaining kitties who author the blog twocatsviews, nominated me and my little blog for the very inspiring blogger award!
you can just about imagine how flattered, honored and happy i am about this award. that’s right, very!
the rules for this award are:

1.Display the award logo somewhere on the blog:

2. Link back to the blog of the person who nominated you:

thankyouthankyouthankyou hemingway and shakespeare, you awesome (fur)people! keep telling your tales on twocatsviews, i love to read what you get up to!

3. State seven random things about yourself:

– i started blogging as an anti- new year’s resolution. i challenged myself to pick up writing again- instead of attempting something new.

– apart from fashion, i love interior decorating.

– some day, i will have a horse, two dogs and three cats.

– i speak 5 1/2  languages.

– i could never date someone who doesn’t love animals.

– if i could choose a super power, it would be flying (without wings though, think along the lines of superman).

– i only started cooking and baking 2 years ago (real cooking, as in without using the microwave, and real baking, as in no ready- mixes).

4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and provide links to their blogs (i did 16, was inspired):

the lonely dogs, a beautiful photoblog about 23 rescued dogs living with the author in mexico.

the cats i meet, by beth. a cat- crazy girl (after my own heart!) that documents the cats she meets day to day.

i broke my glasses again, by erica. a ms-paint obsessed college student with a great sense of humor.

the good greatsby, by paul. very funny anecdotes of his daily life that include family and friends.

5. Notify those bloggers that they have been nominated and of the award’s requirements.

“feed me” – mornings with whiney cats

13 Jun

pretty much yuki’s daily plan of action to make sure he doesn’t starve.
not that he would starve if i wouldn’t feed him for a day or two- kitty got some spare jiggle!

from the moment i wake up and my feet touch the floor, he starts meowing, reminding me that “oh yes- he’s hungry!”

he follows me to the bathroom. hops on the sink while i wash my face- god forbid i don’t hear him sitting on the floor! brush my teeth with a constant, slightly louder meow in my ear. my toothbrush is electric, so he’s again making sure i can hear him over the buzzing noise.
me: bunny! it’s ok, i’ll feed you! let me get dressed and we’ll go, ok?
yuki: waaaaa! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
oh yeah, it’s not an enunciated “meow” anymore. the sound he is producing at this stage is more like a baby’s wail. long, loud and piercing.

yuki follows me all the way around the room becoming less and less patient. he shows his disapproval of my slowness by reaching an acoustic level that drowns out my radio.
have you had a hungry cat scream at you before? trust me, you want to feed it asap, or you will most likely go nuts.

at this stage i’m threatening him- i’m not taking any of his feline bitching anymore!
me: listen to me, cat! if you don’t shut up now, i’m not feeding you! you hear?!
yuki: … moww… WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
me: i’m being serious! when have i ever not fed you?! shut up! you don’t see cookie and loki being annoying! they know that i’ll feed them! you know it! so shut it!
yuki: waaa waaaaa WAAAAAAAA!
we don’t get anywhere with these conversations. it’s frustrating, to say the least.

i try to stare him down. he’s not impressed. just stares back and voices his disapproval of why he *still* hasn’t been fed.
i sigh. i give up. i walk towards the kitchen led by one very hungry kitty and followed by two other slightly less hungry kitties.

april weekend

30 Apr

hello lovelies!

i really hope you had an amazing weekend! mine was beautifully relaxing… we’ve had incredible weather over the last week, and the weekend just topped it all off with temperatures up to 30°C!

i spent the entire saturday reading at stadtpark (vienna’s “central park”), enjoying the sun, the grass, the birds chirping- it was divine! i started and finished the first book of the hunger games trilogy that day, and i’m hooked! i even brought the second one with me to work, so that i can read during breaks.

how dreamy is this garden? to anyone that is planning to visit vienna, stadtpark is a must see!
when i wasn’t at the park, i was with my friends at brunch or at the movies (american pie reunion!).i haven’t felt this rested in a long time, and i can’t wait to repeat the drill tomorrow again, because it’s national day! which equals holiday, and the sun approves.here a few glimpses of life at home on a lazy sunday morning
